3rd Forum on the EU Mission Adaptation to Climate ChangE

Pathways2Resilience

Mission Project

Pathways2Resilience is an EU-funded programme and a flagship initiative of the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change that will empower more than 100 regions and communities across Europe to co-design innovative visions of a climate-resilient future. The programme is building on assessment of climate risks and resilience opportunities, and helping regions formulate pathways to transformative adaptation in a locally led and participatory way.

It will support regions and communities in creating their own transformative adaptation strategies and it will do so via guidelines, tools, training, and mentoring. Regions and communities will be able to apply for two public calls, allocating a total of €21 million in cascade funding, to develop ready-to-implement innovation plans with concrete interventions supporting climate resilience.

To support regions in this task,  a tailored roadmap has been created: the Regional Resilience Journey. This new, comprehensive framework provides step-by-step guidance, trainings, tools, and resources that allow regions to either produce their first climate resilience plans, or to improve existing ones.  By the end of the project, Pathways2Resilience will have empowered 150 regions and communities to create their own regional resilience journey, preparing the way for implementation by 2030.
